Toy Run organizers distribute funds, gifts for local families

Toy RunOrganizers of last month?s Marion County Toy Run presented checks totaling more than $11,500, plus some 150 toys and 25 bicycles and tricycles, to representatives from six local charitable organizations Saturday morning at Hills?boro State Bank. The cash and toys will be distributed by the charitable groups to worthy families in Marion County during this holiday season. Behind them are representatives from the Toy Run sponsors: Kim Abra?hams, Route 56 Classic Car Club; Gary Andrews, Sons of the American Legion; Tom Koslowsky, Sons of the American Legion; Ken Johnson, Sons of the Ameri?can Legion; Mike Sechler, ABATE District 9; and Roger Fleming, Ameri?can Legion?Post 366. This was the first year Big Brothers Big Sisters and FACT were included in the distribution. As a result of 20 years of the Marion County Toy Run, more than $147,000 has been raised and distributed for local families.
