Pool staff getting ready for the summer season

Now that school is out, pools all over the county are getting ready for summer.
Hillsboro Family Aquatic Center spent all week holding swim team practice, cleaning and setting up for their big opening on Monday, May 31.
According to the Hillsboro Family Aquatic Center website, admission ranges from day passes to single passes to family passes. Memberships can be purchased through the city office in person or online at http://cityofhillsboro.net/departments/family-aquatic-center/.
The swimming hours start with open swim (Monday to Friday) from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Adult lap swim is from 5-6 p.m. and then public swim again from 6-8 p.m. Saturdays are 1-7 p.m. and Sundays 2-7 p.m.
They offer swim lessons. Call 620-947-3750 to schedule.
New Director Cara Duell says that it has to be 70 degrees for the pool to be able to open at 1 p.m. The morning lessons and swim team practice will happen unless it is storming.
Private parties are also available.
“I’m so excited about opening to the public. Monday morning swim team sounds were like music to me,” said Duell.
