MCfair2012GoesselDancers071cmyk Battling a daily dose of triple-digit temperatures, the 82nd annual Marion County officially kicked off Wednesday evening with the parade down Main Street. In the top photo, Jesse Perry and Jacob Dailey danced in 1950s style throughout the parade route on the Goessel Goal-Getters 4-H Club float, which received first place for best use of the ?At the Hop? theme and for best 4-H float.

Meanwhile, The Unicycle Man (aka Michael Ball of Hillsboro, bottom) maneuvers toward the crowd as a lineup of new trucks rolls on behind him. Despite the heat, a big crowd turned out again Saturday night for the annual demolition derby Jesse Hamm of Hillsboro (middle) celebrates his first-place trophy in the main division.
