Marion to host Moran’s 1,000th town hall

Jerry MoranU.S. Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) announced last week that he has chosen Marion as the site to host his 1,000th town hall meeting and to kickoff another ?Kansas Listening Tour.?
The gathering will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25 in the Marion Community Center, 203 N. Third St.
Area residents are encouraged to attend to enjoy a free pancake feed and offer feedback to Moran.
As the representative for the state?s 1st Congres?sional District, Moran chose Marion as the location of his first town hall meeting, which occurred July 18, 1997. Moran then traveled to each of the district?s 69 counties during his annual ?Big First Listening Tour.?
Since his election to the U.S. Senate, Moran has hosted a town hall meeting in each of Kansas?s 105 counties.
According to his office, the issues Moran focuses on in Washington, D.C., are based largely on the conversations he has with Kansans during these town hall meetings.
