Marion man dies in Easter collision

A 49-year-old Marion man died April 24 in a two-vehicle collision near Canton.

James R. Stang, 49, was dead at the scene after his 2008 Toyota Tacoma was hit by a 2003 Dodge Ram driven by Laramie Siebert, 32, of Lucas.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Stang was driving east on U.S. Highway 56 at 3:23 a.m. one mile east of Canton. Siebert?s vehicle was headed west when it went left of center and struck the Tacoma.

Both vehicles, officials said, ended up in the south ditch and shoulder.

Stang was taken to Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home in McPher?son, and Siebert was taken by ambulance to St. Francis Health Center in Topeka.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
