Kids wrestling tourney draws 200 hopefuls


Under the watchful eye of the official, Travis King of Hillsboro works for a pin against his opponent, Hannah Kreutzer of Nickerson, during their first-round matchup in the Hillsboro Takedown Tournament Saturday at Robert C. Brown Gymnasium. Travis, wrestling in the 12 & under division, accomplished the pin moments later and finished with a 1-2 record. Below, Chance Shults finds himself on the wrong end of a takedown manuever in the 6 & under division. He also went 1-2 for the day. The tournament drew 200 participants from 19 wrestling clubs across Kansas, including 21 wrestlers from Hillsboro and 18 from Marion. For more results, see Page Page 14A.
