After a long time of not much news outside of lawyer fees for the Hillsboro Community Hospital (HCH), word came out last week that Rural Hospital Group is proposing to buy the hospital for $6.9 million.
This news was released on Wednesday, Oct 9 according to The Washington Times.
The Rural Hospital Group is a Kansas City, Missouri company that specializes in turning around financially distressed hospitals.
HCH filed bankruptcy in January. The hospital was then placed into receivership under Cohesive Management.
This new company would take them out from the receivership.
“Our objective was to see that the hospital remains open and with this proposal, it would appear it would remain open,” said Larry Paine, Hillsboro City Administrator when asked about the news on Friday.
