The previous record was May 10, 1967, he said, but by late Wednesday, a cold front is expected to move in bringing rain and cooler, more normal temperatures in the 70s. The average temperature in Wichita and the Marion County area for May is about 73 degrees, he said.
Hillsboro and area hit record temperature
