Happy Holly Days in Hillsboro

Sam Sorenson, 3-year-old son of Wade and Tania Sorenson of Hillsboro, gets some behavioral encouragement from St. Nikolaus during ?An Old Fashioned Christmas at the Schaeffler House? on Saturday afternoon. More than 90 children, along with more than 70 parents, turned out to have their photos taken with St. Nik, according to Stan Harder, Hillsboro Museums director. Earlier in the afternoon, spectators watched the Holly Days parade featuring members of the Hillsboro High School band (below, left) and antique cars, including one carrying Mayor Delores Dalke (below right). Covered-wagon rides (below, right) were offered from mid-morning to late in the afternoon.
