Fair board encouraging advance carnival tickets

The Marion County Fair Board is encouraging people to order advance tickets for the Fun Time Shows Carni?val that will be on site for this year?s fair, July 23-26 in Hillsboro.

The sale of advance tickets will improve the chances of the carnival returning next year, according to Kelli Savage, fair director.

Savage describes Fun Time Shows as ?one of the cleanest and friendliest carnivals in the Midwest.?

She said it will provide entertainment for all ages and offers a variety of rides, ranging from gentle to thrilling.

The carnival also will offer a variety of games from skill to luck. Food options include cotton candy, giant funnel cakes, snow cones and more.

An advance ticket will allow the purchaser to ride all the carnival rides for one night for $17. Advance tickets will need to be exchanged for a wristband at the carnival ticket booth once the fair starts. Wristbands will increase to $20 once the carnival opens July 23.

Individual ride tickets will be available when the carnival opens, with rides taking one ticket per ride per person.

Advance tickets can be purchased from these county banks and businesses: Cotton?wood Valley Bank in Lin?colnville and Florence, Citizens State Bank in Goessel, Central National Bank, Emprise Bank, Heartland Foods, Hills?boro Free Press and Hillsboro State Bank in Hillsboro; Central National Bank and Tampa State Bank in Marion and Pea?body State Bank in Peabody.

?The Marion County Fair Board is encouraging county patrons to support the carnival and purchase your advance tickets now,? Savage said.

?Keep the memories of when you were a kid going to the fair and riding the carnival rides alive for the next generation of fairgoers,? she added.

Information about the carnival is available at marioncountyfairks.org.
