Early white Christmas

Predicted storm comes through as sleet and snow hit county on Saturday.Hillsboro city crews were working Sunday morning to clear streets of the roughly 5 inches of snow and sleet that began falling in the area around Saturday noon. Several area churches canceled some or all Sunday services. Shortly after Sunday lunch, the sun was shining and some thawing began even though temperatures remained in the mid to upper 20s. Forecasters are predicting a gradual warming trend this week with a Christmas Day high temperature of 37 degrees and sunshine. By the weekend, temperatures could hit the mid-40s.
