Church extends closure date for day care center

During a membership meeting Sunday evening, the congregation of Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church approved a recommendation to extend the closure date for Kids Connection, the child care center it launched in August 2008.

The extension enables Kids Connection to continue offering preschool and day care to area residents through August 2012.

During the next few months, the Kids Connection Board of Directors, in partnership with the HMBC Council and leadership will work to build a stronger, interactive, shared ministry and space relationship between the programs and ministries of both entities, according to Bob Loewen, church moderator.

?We want to express our sincere thanks to the congregation of Hillsboro MB Church for their continuing commitment to this ministry, the Kids Connec?tion board and staff, our community and the parents of children attending Kids Connection for their continuing prayer support for this ministry to children in our community,? Loewen said.
