Athletes turn out for first official day of fall sports practice

First football practiceHillsboro High School senior Jesse Brown points to the cone that his exhausted teammate must touch to complete that leg of a multi-stage conditioning drill Monday morning, the first official day of fall sports practice for Kansas high schools. Brown and his teammates are coming off a 10-1 season in 2012. Second-year coach Lance Sawyer and the Trojans will open their competitive season Sept. 6 when they host the Lyons Lions at Joel H. Wiens Stadium in Hillsboro.
