Marion County Lake closed to non-county residents

The Board of County Commissioners met on Tuesday, March 31. After speaking with Marion County Health Department Health Administrator and County Attorney Brad Jantz, the commissioners voted unanimously on the following regarding the Marion County Lake.

1. The Marion County Lake will be closed to all out of county residents.

2. Out of County Residents whose own properties on Marion County Lake property will need to choose either one place of residence for the duration of the Governor’s stay at home order or a local stay at home order.

3. At any given time, no more than ten people are allowed to gather including county and non-county residents.

4. The Marion County Lake in Marion County, Kansas are hereby ordered closed to out of county residents if not residing at own property through the duration of stay at home orders effective at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 until April 30, 2020.

5. This order may be supplanted or modified as required for the effective and efficient management and control of the Coronavirus epidemic in the County by further order or direction of the Marion County Board of Public Health or by the Marion County Local Health Officer.

The order will be reviewed at the end of the month.
