Carlson, Helmer exchange vows
Jessica Danielle Carlson and Paul Scott Helmer were married Sept. 8 at the Marion Christian Church.
Pastor Carl Helm officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Brad Carlson and Rhonda Carlson, both of Marion. The groom is the son of Darrel Helmer of Marion and the late Marsha Helmer.
Grandparents are Charlote Casey, Gary and Shirley Carlson, Eldena Helmer, Norman and Phyllis Spencer, and Pauline Alender.
The bride wore a white strapless gown featuring embroidery and beading on the bodice and the cathedral length train. She carried a cascading bouquet of pink gerbera daisies accented with white daisies and greenery.
The matron of honor was Traci Helmer, sister-in-law of the groom. Bridesmaids were Haley Creamer and Alysha O?Dell, friends of the bride. Flower girl was Emily Casey, cousin of the bride.
The best man was Aaron Helmer, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Jarvis Whiteman, friend of the groom, and Randy Carlson, brother of the bride. Ring bearer was Wyatt Helmer, nephew of the groom.
Ushers were Brady May, Chase Carlson, and Chance Reece, cousins of the bride.
Musicians were Lyle Leppke, soloist, and Anita Brookens, pianist.
Candlelighters were Jenna Helmer, niece of the groom, and Rebecca Casey, cousin of the bride. A memory candle was lit in honor of Marsha and Jenny Helmer.
Other attendants were Terri Bina, cousin of the groom, Lacie May, cousin of the bride, and Chassiday and Melissa Carlson, cousins of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a dinner, reception and dance were held at the Pilsen Community Center. Dinner and reception attendants were Lucy Helmer, Bev Helmer, Cindy Reece, Janet Glahn and Chelsi Carlson.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted Sept. 7 by Darrel Helmer at his home.
The bride is a graduate of Marion High School and Flint Hills Technical College. She is a dental assistant in the office of Loren Loewen, D.D.S., in Hillsboro.
The groom is a graduate of Marion High School and North Central Kansas Technical College. He is employed by Herington Heating and Air in Herington.
Following a honeymoon to Orlando, Fla., the couple resides in Marion.
Austin, Frantz wed Sept. 29
Amber Austin and Craig Frantz, both of Greensboro, N.C., were married Sept. 29 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Charleston, S.C.
The bride is the daughter of Alan and Susan Austin of Morganton, N.C. The groom is the son of Tom and Brenda Frantz of Lincoln, Neb.
The maid of honor was Amy Austin. Bridesmaids were Audrey Dobbe, Katie Formisani, and Mary Sneed. Flower girls were Caroline Johnson and Emily Henderson.
The best man was Kendall Frantz. Groomsmen were Scott Dobbe, Jason Alexander, Michael Tanner, and Brandon Klassen. Ring bearer was Thomas Loewen.
Ushers were Jonathan Goes and Christopher Onken.
Special people in attendance were the groom?s grandparents, Lloyd and Evalina Klassen of Hillsboro.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Harbour Club in Charleston.
The bride received her master?s degree from the University of North Carolina in Greensburg. She is employed by St. Louis (Mo.) Public Schools as a speech pathologist.
The groom graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln. He is employed by Energizer in St. Louis.
Following a honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico, the couple resides in St. Louis.
