Epp, Rigdon married in Overland Park
Lynee Diane Epp of Roeland Park and Mark Edward Rigdon of Overland Park were married at 6:30 p.m. April 4 at Prairie Village Baptist Church in Prairie Village with pastor Brian Wright officiating. The wedding was a double ring ceremony.
Parents of the bride are Paul and Kathy Epp of Hillsboro. The groom?s parent is Jean Rigdon of Smithville, Mo.
The matron of honor was Linda Pauls, cousin of the bride, and the best man was Rob Rigdon.
Bridesmaids were Joanna Regier, Shannon Smart and Janna Crowley. Groomsmen were Dean Campbell, Tom Beam and David Lee.
The flower girl was Megan Regier. Ushers and candlelighters were Anthony Epp and Terrell Waller. Ceremony hostesses were Elizabeth Cartney and Melissa Just.
Russ Friesen and Marietta Fulk served as vocalists. Steve Hanneman played trumpet and Armande String Quartet also played.
The bride?s dress was a one-piece, strapless, A-line gown with corset closure. The satin gown featured a glistening-jeweled bodice and asymmetrical wrap waist was highlighted with a spray of beading. The back was accentuated with cascading pleats embellished with jeweled accents.
A reception was held at Deer Creek Country Club, complete with dinner and dance.
The bride is a graduate of Hillsboro High School, Tabor College in 1996 and University of Kansas School of Nursing in 1999.
The groom graduated from the University of Missouri. The bride is employed as a registered nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care at Children?s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. The groom is a structural engineer with Kissick Construction Company, Kansas City, Mo.
Before settling into their new home in Overland Park, the couple honeymooned at Riviera Maya in Mexico at the Iberostar Tucan Resort.
Funk, Platz exchange vows in Hillsboro
Jessica Funk of Hillsboro and Brady Platz of Wilsey were married at 4 p.m. June 20 at Trinity Mennonite Church in Hillsboro with Todd Lehman officiating.
Parents of the bride are Donovan and Pati Funk of Hillsboro. The groom?s parents are Donald and Wanda Platz of Herington.
The bride?s grandparents are Lucille Wiebe of Fresno, Calif., and Eldon and Esther Funk of Hillsboro. Werner and Pauline Monnich of Herington are the groom?s grandparents.
The maid of honor was Diedre Funk and matron of honor was Angel Klein.
The best man was Joey Platz and groomsman was James Jost.
Candlelighters were Marni Erb and Sarah Schrader and the flower girl was Ally Friesen. Ringbearer was Colton Massey. Ushers were Devin Funk, Lane Massey, Duane Griffith and Matthew Wiebe.
The reception was held at the Lincolnville Community Center with Ralph and Barb Klein and Larry and Barbara Schlesener as hosts and hostesses.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Hillsboro High School and 2006 graduate of Xenon?s International School of Hair Design. She is employed at Jess? Tresses.
The groom is a 2004 graduate of Council Grove High School and owner of Circle P Construc?tion.
The couple honeymooned in Tennessee and plan to reside in Wilsey.
