Duerksen, Galle wed in Hillsboro

Amy Janae Duerksen and Paul Richard Galle were married Jan. 1 at the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church with pastor Bob Harrison of Manhattan officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Gary and Janet Duerksen of Lehigh. The groom is the son of Neal and Clare Galle of Moundridge.

Grandmother of the bride is Erma Pankratz of Goessel and grandparents of the groom are Ruth Galle of Moundridge and Druery and Elaine Thorn of Sun City West, Ariz.

The bride?s matron of honor was her mother, Janet Duerksen. Bridesmaids were Jessica Fray of Parkville, Mo., Kelli Roberts of Topeka and Kylee Boss of Salina, friends of the bride. Flower girls were Loriah Davis of Wichita and Ella Jost of Hillsboro, friends of the bride.

The best man was Craig Galle of Goddard, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Ryan Cyr of Abilene, Stephen Friedman of Kansas City and Alex Fulsom of Derby, friends of the groom. Ringbearer was Joshua Duerksen of Goddard, nephew of the bride.

Ushers were Chad and Ross Duerksen, brothers of the bride, and Michael Hess, brother-in-law of the groom. Guest book attendants were Beth Hess, sister of the groom, and Cheryl Duerksen, sister-in-law of the bride.

Personal attendant and wedding coordinators were Alaine Galle, sister-in-law of the groom, and Michelle Duerksen, sister-in-law of the bride. Program attendant was Shannon Cremeens, cousin of the bride.

Scripture reading was 1 John 4 by Charity Davis, friend of the bride; the salt covenant was read by the fathers of the bride and groom. The musician was Sarah Hughes, friend of the bride.

The bride wore an ivory A-line dress with a halter neckline and chapel train with pearl beading and lace detail. She carried a bouquet of red roses.

The bridesmaids wore black dresses with a halter neckline and carried red rose bouquets similar to the bride?s.

A reception followed in the church fellowship hall. Reception hosts were Ed and Karen Schultz and Dean and Donna Pankratz, uncles and aunts of the bride. Reception servers were Stephanie Nowack, Mara Rojero, Celeste Rojero, friends of the bride.

The bride graduated from Hillsboro High School and Washburn University. She is employed as a registered nurse at Hospice of Salina.

The groom graduated from Moundridge High School and Kansas State University. He is employed as a product engineer for Great Plains Manufacturing in Assaria.

After a honeymoon trip to Florida, the couple are at home in Salina.
