Ruder and Waner wedding Sept. 10


Gloria Ruder and Neil Waner were married Sept. 10 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 300 N. Washington, Plainville, with Father Al Brungardt as celebrant.

Parents of the couple are John and Karla Ruder of Plainville and David and Tena Waner of Marion.

Grandparents of the couple are Mary Kay Schmidt and Iola Ruder, both of Hays, and Frances Bezdek and Vernon and Henrietta Waner, all of Marion.

The bride was escorted by her father.

Maid of honor was Selby Renk, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Emily Ruder, sister of the bride; and Morgan Gauby, Mindi Blokzyl, and Rachel Wood, all friends of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Melinda Ruder, sister of the bride.

Best man was Clayton Chamberland, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Nicholas Waner, brother of the groom, Jared Kirkpatrick, Tyler Blosser, and Andrew Gayle, all friends of the groom.

Ushers were Will Ruder, Ben Ruder and Toby Ruder, brothers of the bride.

Readers were John Schmidt, uncle and godfather of the bride, and Dean Bezdek, uncle and godfather of the groom.

A reception, dinner, and dance were hosted following the ceremony at the Fox Pavilion in Hays.

The bride is a 2006 graduate of Plainville High School and a 2010 graduate of Kansas State University in Manhattan.

The groom is a 2004 graduate of Marion High School and a 2009 graduate of Kansas State University.

The newlyweds reside in Manhattan.


Voth, Miller wed May 27 in Goessel


Chrystiana Voth and Bryant Miller, both of Goessel, exchanged wedding vows at 6:30 p.m. May 27 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, 1304 Kansas Highway 14, Goessel.

Pastor Scott Miller, the groom?s uncle, who is also a pastor at Kingdom Life Ministries in Hesston, officiated the double-ring ceremony.

The parents of the bride are Delton and Janice Voth of Newton. The groom?s parents are Dan and Jaynette Miller, also of Newton.

The matron of honor was Leslie Duerksen and bridesmaids were Carmen Burchett, Michelle Hall and Elyssa Blackburn.

The best man was Vaughn Miller with Isaac Fast, Austin Unruh and Chad Wedel serving as groomsmen.

Kaleigh Guhr was the flower girl and Jacob and Timothy Schrag were ring bearers.

Candlelighters were Melinda Stucky and Diedre Funk, cousins of the bride. Karen Unruh was pianist/organist with Ami Miller and Eric Schrag singing.

Head ushers were Peter Voth and Lyndl Duerksen. Kendall Voth, Travis Fensky, Troy Richert, Levi Miller and Junior Miller served as ushers.

The bride?s dress was strapless, white, floor length, beading on the bodice that faded to tulle at the hip, corset tie back, soft and romantic look with a French bustle for the reception.

The bride?s bouquet was a mix of peonies and renunculus in shades of pink; corset wrapped with pink and white satin and grandmother?s hankie that mother carried in her bouquet tucked into the bouquet.

The church was decorated with white iron candelabras and white arch with greenery and flowers on the stage. Mason jars with wheat and a tea candle were part of the aisle decorations and reception table decorations.

The reception was at Bontrager Center at Hesston College following the ceremony.

The reception tables also had vases with pink peonies and soft yellow flowering stock that were sitting on peacock blue fabric that matched the bridemaids? dresses. Hung from the ceiling were many strings of lights and pink, yellow and white paper lanterns.

The rehearsal dinner was a catered barbecue at 6 p.m. at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church.

The bride is a 2009 graduate of Goessel High School and is expected to graduate from Kansas State University in May 2013.

The groom is a 2010 graduate of Goessel High School and is also expected to graduate from KSU in May 2013.

The bride and groom are both full-time students.

The couple?s honeymoon was a road trip to the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee.

They reside in Manhattan.
