Baltzer, Cortright wedding Jan. 22

WED-KatieBaltzer Katherine Leigh Baltzer and Samuel Allan Cortright were married at 11 a.m. Jan. 22 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Louisburg.

Monsig?nor Robert Bergman officiated the double-ring ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Doug and Shirley Baltzer of Lehigh and Bret and Jacqueline Cortright of Shawnee.

Grandparents of the bride are Jona and Mary Baltzer the late Abe Klassen and Helen Jane Klassen, all of Hillsboro.

Grandparents of the groom are the late John and Mae Cortright and the late Bill Davis and Mary Davis, formerly of Marion.

The bride wore a magnolia-colored strapless gown of beaded lace and angel satin with a tiered skirt of a satin overlay and lace underskirt. She wore her mother?s chapel-length veil with sunflowers in her hair.

Her bouquet included red roses, red calla lilies, yellow sunflowers and blue stephanolas.

The bride?s attendants were Christie Boote of Derby; Ulrica Williams of Stockholm, Sweden; Henriette Tyse Nygard and Monica Nilsen, both of Bergen, Norway, all friends of the bride.

The groom?s attendant were Maggie Cortright, sister of the groom, Ben Wilson, friend of the groom, Jake Cortright, and Bret Cortright Jr., brothers of the groom.

Readers were Drew and Kari Logsdon, friends of the bride, and Joy Dugan, friend of the groom. Musician was Roger Klein, friend of the bride.

Following the ceremony, a reception luncheon was held at Evergreen Events in Paola.

A rehearsal dinner was at Weebee Smokin? near Paola.

The bride is a 2005 graduate of Hillsboro High School and a 2009 graduate of Southwestern College. She is employed as a microbiologist with Hospira.

The groom is a 2005 graduate of Shawnee High School and attended Pittsburg State. He is employed with Cross-Midwest in Salina.

After a honeymoon in the Bahamas, the couple is at home in McPherson.


Jantz, Marr wed April 23 in Wichita

WED-Jantz Abby Lea Jantz and Tyler Jay Marr were married at 5:30 p.m., April 23 at Abode Venue in Wichita.

Parents of the couple are Vince and Julie Jantz of rural Durham and Terry and Claudia Marr of Fredonia.

Grandparents of the bride are Doris Evans of Canton and the late George Evans, and Madeline Jantz of Galva and the late Harvey Jantz.

Grandparents of the groom are Claude and Marge Burr of Toronto and Pat Marr of Fredonia and the late Harley Marr.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by both her mother and father. She wore a strapless V-neck Mermaid gown, featuring sparkling organza overlay, unique tiered organza skirt, chapel-length train and lace-up back.

The maid of honor was Christen Buller of Wichita, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Courtney Bloom of Wichita, Bailey Estelle of Pleasant Valley, Mo.; and Car?men Gattis of Austin, Texas, all friends of the bride.

The best man was Shawn Neill of Joplin, Mo., friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Jud Patty of Wichita, Devon Krusich of Pittsburg, and Joe Dean of Houston, Texas, all friends of the groom.

Jeffrey Horinek was a junior groomsman and Grant Horinek was ring bearer, both nephews of the groom.

Ushers were Josh Banister and Lee Nutter, both friends of the groom and both of Wichita.

The ceremony was officiated by pastor Eric Smith, and the ceremony music was provided by John Francis of the Wichita Guitar Society.

Greeters and gift attendants were Arika Nelson and Kelli Nelson, friends of the bride and both of Wichita.

Wedding day coordinators were Lisa Steiner, the groom?s aunt, and Holli Steiner, the groom?s cousin, both of Wichita.

Following the ceremony, which was in the glass-enclosed foyer of Abode Venue, the wedding party and guests were ushered into the venue?s banquet area for a reception.

The meal was catered by Blue Moon Catering. Dinner and reception music was provided by Accent Mobile Music.

In lieu of a traditional wedding cake, the couple served cupcakes made by Sweet Treats by Jodie.

The bride is a graduate of Hillsboro High School and Tabor College and is employed as the director of marketing and business development for Towne West Square.

The groom is a graduate of Fredonia High School and Pitts?burg State University and is employed as western regional sales manager for Metal-Fab Inc., Wichita.

The couple reside in Wichita.
