Rhodes, Smith exchange vows

Smith-wedding.jpg Molly Ann Rhodes and Tyler James Smith, both of Marion, were married at 5 p.m. Dec. 20 at Eastmoor United Methodist Church in Marion with pastor Michael W. Eurit officiating.

Parents of the bride are Bruce and Brenda Rhodes and the groom?s parents are Steven Smith and Greta Smith, both of Marion.

Grandparents of the bride are Harold and Sally Bauer of Hudson and the late Bill and Elsie Rhodes of Gaylord.

The groom?s grandparents are Juanita Helmer of Florence and the late Will Helmer and Mona Smith of Marion and the late Winton Smith.

The church was decorated with red and white poinsettias, greenery and candlelight.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father. She wore a white, all-over beaded lace dress with a trumpet skirt, V-neck halter and chapel train. She carried a bouquet of red roses and evergreen.

Amber Richmond was the maid of honor and friend of the bride. Amanda Muller, friend of the bride, and Jessica Bauer, cousin of the bride, were bridesmaids.

Trevor Smith, brother of the groom, was best man. Mike Kline, friend of the groom, and Matt Rhodes, brother of the bride, were groomsmen.

The flower girl was Elizabeth Smith, friend of the couple, and ring bearer was Noah Rhodes, nephew of the bride.

Following the ceremony, a reception, dinner and dance was at the Pilsen Community Center.

The bride is a 2005 graduate of Marion High School and 2008 graduate of Wichita State University with a bachelor of science degree in nursing.

She is employed as a registered nurse in the emergency room at Via Christi, St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.

The groom is a 2004 graduate of Marion High School and attended Butler County Community College in El Dorado. He is employed as a machinist.

Following the honeymoon trip to Kansas City, the couple is at home in Marion.
