Braun, McAtee wed in Kansas City

Heidi Braun and Todd McAtee, both of Shawnee, were married at 5 p.m. on July 21, at the Rainbow Mennonite Church in Kansas City with Robert Kaufman officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Ron and Dena Braun of North Newton. The groom is the son of Ed and Kathy McAtee of North Newton.

Matron of honor was Starla Titus and maid of honor was Jasmine Titus. Best man was Collin Stucky.

Bridesmaids were Jenny Goertzen and Carrie McAtee. Flower girl was Peyton Lemons.

Groomsmen were Craig Idavavage, Dan Scheffler and Andrew Braun.

Ushers were Branden Banks, Brandon Jameson, Kerry Funk and Nick Hoheisel.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Public Library in Kansas City, Mo.

Special person in attendance was Paul Suderman, grandfather of the bride, of Hillsboro.

The bride is a 2004 graduate of Tabor College. She is employed as an English as a Second Language teacher at Grant Elementary School in Kansas City.

The groom is a 2002 graduate of Southwestern College. He is a teacher and a coach at Shawnee Mission East High School in Prairie Village.

After a honeymoon to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple resides in Shawnee.
