Andrews and Bergin exchange vows

Gina Marie Andrews of Hillsboro and John Patrick Bergin of Meriden were united in marriage July 18 at Hillsboro United Methodist Church with Frank Eschmann, uncle of the groom, officiating the double-ring ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Mike and Cyndee Bergin of Meriden and Gary and Sally Andrews of Hillsboro.

The maid of honor was Katie Gibson, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Marissa Diener, Lauryn Mayfield and Sara Goldsby, all of friends of the bride.

The bride?s bouquet was a purple and white mix of roses, stephanotis and lavender. Decorations included purple and white candles and flowers.

The bride wore a white strapless A-line gown with all-over beading and lace, white satin sash at the waist and chapel-length train.

The best man was Jon Pretz, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Matt Dick, cousin of the groom, and Kyle Houdek and Jacob Gouldie, both friends of the groom.

The flower girl was Makenzi Prato, cousin of the groom, and ring bearers were Jack Spiegel and Sam Spiegel, friends of the bride.

Marie Adams, friend of the bride, played piano; readers were Kellen Whaley and Valerie French, friends of the bride, and candlelighters were Kelly Bergin, sister of the groom, and Lora Andrews, sister of the bride.

Guestbook and gift attendants were Kirsten Cederberg and Hannah Oakes, both friends of the bride.

Ushers were Phil White, Collin Adams and Shane Blaes, all friends of the groom, and Daniel Gibson, friend of the couple.

A dinner and dance was held at Perkins Restaurant Ballroom in McPherson following the ceremony. The hosts and hostesses were Jim and Julie Jones, Mary Kay McCall and George Ohlund, aunts and uncles of the bride.

Reception assistants were Mary Kay McCall, LeeAnn Plunkett, Rita McCall, Lynell Andrews and Julie Jones, aunts of the bride.

The bride is a 2005 graduate of Hillsboro High School and 2009 graduate of Kansas State University. She is employed as a family and consumer sciences teacher at Newton High School.

The groom graduated from Jefferson West High School in 2004 and Kansas State University in 2009. He is employed as an agriculture teacher at Goessel High School.

The couple honeymooned in Cozumel, Mexico. They are now at home in Newton.
