Senior Scribbles (Week of Oct. 31, 2007)

Greetings from the Hillsboro Senior Center. As we roll into November and focus on our blessings and the holidays, come and bless us with your presence.

Our annual Thanksgiving meal will be at noon Wednesday, Nov. 14. Bill Darberg will give the meditation. Individuals wanting to attend the meal should RSVP by Monday, Nov. 12. No late reservations will be accepted.

A big thank you to our weekly volunteers: Irma Groening, Irma Koop, Carol, Hicks, Carol Unruh, Louise Rahe, Ruth Ann Penner, Frieda Birkle, Nellie Penner, Mariann Unruh and Ann Fast.

Pork roast, boiled potatoes with gravy, lima beans, wheat bread, fruit cocktail.

THURSDAY, Nov. 1

Crispy baked chicken, sweet potato casserole, wax beans and pimento, wheat bread, fruit and marshmallow cream.

FRIDAY, Nov. 2

Beef stew, cornbread, cottage cheese with peaches, cherry crisp.

MONDAY, Nov. 5

Meatloaf with brown gravy, mashed potatoes, stewed tomatoes, wheat bread, bananas.

TUESDAY, Nov. 6

Ham and beans, broccoli and cauliflower salad, wheat bread, peach shortcake.

 

WEDNESDAY, Nov. 7

Swiss steak with tomatoes, potato wedges, peas, wheat bread, applesauce gelatin.
