hillsboro senior center
We had a great turnout for our Thanksgiving meal, and we want thank the Golden Notes Singers for providing the entertainment. The center is closed Nov. 26-27 for the holiday.
Our monthly birthday dinner is Nov. 30. If you can join us, please call for reservations. Volunteers are needed to fill in as substitute drivers for our Meals on Wheels program. Other volunteers are needed, too. We are very grateful to our board members and everyone who helps at the center.
The center continues to need donations to cover our costs, which come close to $3,000 on a monthly basis.
Our thanks to Barkman Honey for matching $2 for every $1 raised to help the center. It has a been a blessing for us. We hope maybe more businesses and individuals will also contribute.
The December menus are available and remember that meal tickets are a great gift idea for the holiday season. The tickets are a good stocking stuffer for family and friends. For more information or to make reservations, call 620-947-2304 or stop by 212 N. Main St. between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

PEABODY senior center
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone from the Peabody Senior Center.
Our December menus are available now, and where has the year gone. It?s hard to believe we are in the last month of what seems like only yesterday it was the new year. Speaking of the New Year, we are going to have ?Bob and the Boys? entertaining us Thursday, Dec. 31. Be sure to call for a reservation because we are also having pizza that day and need an accurate count.
Each year we have the Tour of Lights with the school providing us with a bus and driver. We pick up people from the senior center and both Peabody Health and Rehab and Westview Nursing Home. Then we take them around the city to see all the Christmas lights.
After seeing the lights, everyone returns to the center for cookies and hot chocolate. For those wanting to attend, be at the center by 6 p.m. for the activities.
Come join us Monday, Nov. 30, for Cider Monday. All participants will geta cup of cider as their treat.
