Senior Scribbles (Week of June 18, 2008)

Greetings from the Hillsboro Senior Center. We will begin distributing commodities at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, June 19, on a first-come, first-served basis. Men?s coffee will be at 3 p.m. Friday, June 20. Join a group of women for games, laughter and goodies Wednesday, June 25, for Games, Gab & Goodies.

WEDNESDAY, June 18

Carry-in meal. Bring table settings and dessert to share.

THURSDAY, June 19

(Commodities at 9:30 a.m.) Ground beef stroganoff, noodles, California blend, wheat bread, fruit cocktail, sherbet.

FRIDAY, June 20

Liver and onions or alternate of hamburger steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, wheat bread, fluffy fruit salad.

MONDAY, June 23

Turkey cheddar casserole, spinach, wheat bread, strawberries/bananas, cookie.

TUESDAY, June 24

Roast pork, baked potatoes, Harvard beets, wheat roll, fruit and marshmallow cream.

WEDNESDAY, June 25

(Games, Gab & Goodies) Chicken-fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, wheat bread, frozen fruit salad.

Chicken and noodles, cucumber with tomatoes, wheat bread, blushing applesauce, custard.

MONDAY, June 23

(Exercises 11:15 a.m.) Turkey cheddar casserole, carrots, wheat bread, strawberries and bananas, cookie.

TUESDAY, June 24

Roast pork, baked potatoes, Harvard beets, wheat roll, fruit and marshmallow cream.

WEDNESDAY, June 25

(Birthday dinner) Crispy baked chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, marinated vegetable salad, wheat bread, Jell-O with fruit.
