(Sassy Senior Moments)

Another season has begun to enjoy good food and friends every day. Check our menu on Channel 2 and posted at select locations.

We have some new Friendship Meals (aka: Meals on Wheels) drivers and on their first day out, we gave them a round of applause for a job well done.

The drivers were Dorothy Conyers, Shirley Bowers and Betty Crumrine.

Reservations may be made for the Marion County Senior Citizens? 50th anniversary annual meeting Oct. 21. Everyone pays $5 for this meal.

Ralph and Luella Popp substituted for me when I went to the Senior Fair at the Bicentennial Center in Salina Sept. 21. I went to a dance workshop where we all learned to disco. The van from Marion was driven by Gayla Ratzlaff, director of Marion County Department for Elderly, and passengers included Estelle McCarty, Virginia Downing, Velma Hadley, Barbara Smith, Shirley Bowers, Marlene Anduss, Iona Dietrich and me. Others from Marion County also attended.

We had a large crowd in attendance yesterday for Janet Blue?s vocal music program. She sang Patsy Cline and gospel. Hilltop Manor and Marion Assisted Living residents attended.

The Marion Senior Citizens elected officers. They include Shirley Moore, president; Leonard Klassen, vice-president; Marilyn Geis, secretary and Ralph Popp, treasurer.

Come join us Oct. 6 for lunch and a demonstration of Tai Chi by Gayla Ratzlaff.

For more information or to make a lunch reservation, due by 9 a.m. the day of the meal, call 620-382-2942 or stop by the center, 309 S. Third St.
