Senior Scribbles (Sept. 23, 2009)

Art Unrau will give a presentation on what it was like as a teenager living in the Dust Bowl era Tuesday, Oct. 22.

Flu shots also will be given by the Marion County Health Depart?ment Oct. 22.

Looking ahead:

n Bring your checker game Wednesday, Sept. 23, for a ?checker playoff? after lunch.

n Another Musical Jam Session is scheduled Thursday, Sept. 24. Those who play a musical instrument are encouraged to bring it and join others for a spontaneous jam session.

n Sign up continues for a ?One Day Trip? Tuesday, Oct. 13, to Rolling Hills Zoo and Museum. We will be taking the 12-passenger van. Lunch and admittance is $18 and $5 for the Marion County van. We will come back through Abilene and stop at the candy factory. Sign up is at the center.

n Are you thinking about going with us to Branson for Christmas Dec. 4-7? Stop by the center and sign up or call 947-2304 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. for more information.

n Plans for a Thanksgiving dinner are under way. Watch for more information. A quilt most likely pieced and quilted by the women at the center is now on display. The quilt, plus other items, will be sold at a silent auction to raise money for the senior center?s operating funds.
