AGAPE senior center

Last week was a fairly slow week here at AGAPE. We had our birthday celebration Wednesday and had a good turnout.

During arts and crafts Oct. 14, we started planning some holiday projects to work on so it looks like my consistency is starting to pay off.

We will be doing ?Chair Dancing? to a video Oct. 19 for some fun and a little bit of exercise.

Lindsborg will be here for pool Oct. 20, and a big welcome to all. On Friday during arts and crafts we will be making a list of supplies for our upcoming holiday projects during arts and crafts Oct. 21.

I also want to remind everyone of our Halloween dress-up party on Oct. 31. Hope you have your costumes ready.

Some of our upcoming events in November include Gayla Ratzlaff, director, Marion County Department on Aging, Nov. 3 and Nov. 10 for Medicare Part D.

Remember open enrollment has changed this year to Oct. 15 through Dec. 7.

Marion County Health Department will be here Nov. 8 giving flu shots from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. This event is open to the public.

In the upcoming weeks I will be posting our schedule for meal deliveries for Thanksgiving because we will be closed Thursday and Friday Nov. 24 and Nov. 25. Please remember to call before noon the business day before you would like to dine with us or for meal delivery.

Once again, ?thank you,? to all the people who make this possible to include Peabody staff and volunteers and Goessel volunteers.

Remember to call before noon the day before you would like lunch with us. The center?s telephone number is 620-367-2275 or stop by at 101 Wheat St., Goessel.

We sold five sets of embroidered tea towels to some people who live in Tennessee and who come by once a year.

Ralph and Phyllis Kreutziger talked about their experiences as Red Cross disaster volunteers. They were in Massachusetts and Vermont recently after Hurricane Irene.
