A total of 40 boxes were prepared. All were distributed Nov. 15.

The center celebrated Mickey Mouse?s birthday Nov. 18. Several people wore their Mickey shirts?Marlene Bernhardt, Connie Fisher, Estelle McCarty, Shirley Bowers and Janet Bryant.

We also sang the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse song.

It was also Marilyn Geis?s birthday. She brought treats, but Mickey did not.

Peabody Senior Center

The senior center is closed for the Thanksgiving holidays Thursday and Friday, and when we reopen on Monday it will be December.

We have a busy schedule for December, so be sure to watch the Free Press to stay abreast of all the activities.

Our annual Light Tour will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 11, and a bus will pick up people at the center shortly before 6 p.m. It will then go to Peabody Care Center to load and then Westview. Once everyone is picked up, we will travel through Peabody to see the Christmas lights on a street-by-street tour.

Afterwards, the bus will bring everyone back to the center for hot chocolate, cookies and snacks.

Sonja Koslowsky will be playing piano music while we enjoy the snacks and company.

The monthly birthday dinner is at noon Dec. 12.

Come and celebrate with us if you have a birthday in December, and if you don?t, join us and help others celebrate. Braden Coldren with Clear Choice Hearing Aid Center in Hutchinson will talk to us about hearing loss and solutions.

Door prizes will also be given away.

Nancy Pihl with the Marion County Extension office will give a presentation Dec. 17. She is always a fun speaker and very informative.

Randolph Whitely, a medical doctor with Heritage Medical, will be here Dec. 18 for ?Dinner with the Doctor.?

He always provides us with valuable information.

Next month, he plans to discuss a topic that concerns all of us. We certainly appreciate the time he donates to keep us informed.

Also in December, we will have a brunch before the Christmas holidays, but this time Kim Nellans, our cook, is going to change things up a bit. We will be having biscuits and sausage gravy Dec. 23.

Menus are now available for December. Everyone is invited to stop by the center and pick one up.

We also need someone to volunteer in the kitchen from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Fridays and also someone to help deliver meals from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Fridays. If interested in helping, please let us know.

For more information, to volunteer or to make lunch reservations, call 620-983-2226 or stop by 106 N. Walnut. We are open from 9 a.m. until around noon.

Hope you have a safe and happy Thanks?giving.
