Senior Scribbles (May 19, 2010)

Hillsboro Senior Center

Our carry-in meal is scheduled for today (May 19). Todd Drew will present a program about the ooption of reverse mortgages.

Parkside Voices will be at the center Thursday providing a music program.

We encourage others to come and enjoy lunch and these programs with us.

Anyone can eat lunch at the center or call and pick it up.

For other information about volunteering or to join us for a meal, call 620-947-2304 before 9 a.m. for that day. Lunch guests over 60 pay $2.75 and those under 60 pay $4.50.

Marion Senior Center

Come in and pick up a copy of the new Marion County Resource Guide prepared by the Marion County Department on Aging.

Also pick up a brochure about the Wellness For Life event from 8:30 a.m. until noon Wednesday, May 26, at Eastmoor Methodist Church, 105 Eastmoor Dr.

It is free for senior citizens with demonstrations and sponsors and is sponsored by the Marion County Department of Aging.

We welcome Henrietta Waner back cooking once a week after medical leave of absence.

Beulah Weigart and Jeff Christensen celebrated birthdays with us this week. They brought treats.

To celebrate Mother?s Day, the women were given a puzzle handout on May 7. The winner of one of the items was Joan Meyer, who received a little Teddy bear I found in a desk drawer.

Everyone is invited to come for lunch, and reservations are due by 9 a.m. the day of the meal. For reservations, call 620-382-2942.
