Senior Scribbles (March 3, 2010)

? Greetings from Hillsboro Senior Center. Monday we had Paul Jantzen talking about ?prairie wonderings.?

Mary McFadden will be offering foot care Thursday, March 4, and then at 12:30 p.m. Monday, March 8, Carolyn Ray will have a Avon presentation.

Commodities will be ready for distribution at 9 a.m. Friday, March 12, also at the center.

Please join us for lunch and call by 9 a.m. the day of the meal to sign up. We would love to see you. For lunch reservations or more information about programs, call 947-2304.

Wednesday, March 20, is the anniversary recognition lunch and Bible quiz.

? As February ends, Marion Senior Center looking forward to March and several extra events.

Sunday, March 7, we will host a candidate forum, sponsored by the Marion County Record. That?s also the day Walk Kansas kicks off. Our ?Senior Sensations? team is getting organized.

A driving course will be offered from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, March 8-9, sponsored by AARP. Call to sign up.

We also are going to the Crown Uptown matinee to see ?All Shook Up,? Thursday, March 25. Call Shirley Moore, 620-382-3758 to go along.

We are getting used to birthday treats, expecting them even.

Ivanlee Timm celebrated Feb. 18; Evelyn Obermeyer, Feb. 19 and Virginia Downing, Feb. 22.

Sue Clough reported on the quilters and how many stitches equal many miles as they work each day.

Pastor Faye Wagner gave a program on Noah?s Ark, displaying her collection and sharing lessons learned, such as ?Don?t miss the boat.?
