It?s good to be back to a routine of weekly column writing.

We had a lot of sick folks among our regular diners so not much happened here in the interval.

We?ve celebrated some birthdays with treats brought by Lanell Hett and by Joyce Jackson.

We also welcomed a new volunteer driver, Ed Riffel. Sometimes we have to call in last-minute substitute drivers. If you can fill in at times, call me.

Many of us enjoyed Larry Hatteburg?s rerun on Channel 10 of his segment on Lenora Graham from Florence. She still delivers meals at age 91.

The winner of the penny jar guessing game was Sue Clough. She guessed $32.56. The actual amount was $31.21.

We have found a pair of glasses in our parking lot. They are fixable.

Fans of Elvis enjoyed Marc Baker?s performance Jan. 8.

Four people drove here from Wichita to check his act for a possible appearance at an event being planned.

Robin Dicks gave a presentation Jan. 9 on the Shepherd?s Shed she operates.

Come join us Jan. 23. Our speaker will be Jackie Volbrecht, who will talk about Circles of Hope.

For more information on volunteering, renting the senior center building, or making a lunch reservation, call 620-382-2942 by 9 a.m. the day of the meal. We are located at 309 S. Third St.

We will be closed Jan. 21 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We will be able to provide frozen meals and deliver them the week prior to the holiday.

We will hope to see a good turnout for Bingo Jan. 24.

Last month we only had one person stay, so let?s not repeat that. It?s hard to play Bingo with one person. We already have the prizes. Please plan to stay after lunch and have fun with friends and neighbors.

Call us at 620-983-2226 to reserve a meal. If it is after hours, leave a message on the recorder and we will add anyone who calls to the list.

Meals are a suggested contribution of $3.15 for those age 60 and over. All others are welcome to eat a meal that includes drink and dessert for $5.

We still have peppernuts left. If interested, stop by 106 S. Walnut and buy a bag or two.

The cost per bag is $8. Peppernuts make a delicious snack anytime and can be frozen to enjoy later.

Looking forward to seeing others for lunch and other events.
