The van and one private car went to the Crown Uptown Dinner Theatre in Wichita Dec. 13 to see ?White Christmas.?

There were 16 of us and I got to go, too. It was one of the best musicals I have seen at the Crown Uptown.

Those going were Joyce Jackson, Mary Costello, Bettie Batt, Estelle McCarty, Wilma Nice, Jackie Hett, Carolyn Woerz, Lynne Watts, Jerry Higgins, Connie Woerz, Sue Clough, Janet Bryant, Rhonda Brenzikofer and Mary Olson. Shirley Moore drove the van.

Wanda Hamm celebrated her birthday with us by bringing in decorated cookies.

We had a good old-fashioned hymn sing Dec. 12 with Sue Clough as song leader and Shirley Bowers on piano.

The center is closed Christmas day.

Come join us Dec. 26 for ?Show ?n Tell.? Bring the best gift, the strangest gift, the why-did-my-children-give-me-this gift, you got for Christmas.

For more information on volunteering, renting the senior center building, or making a lunch reservation, call 620-382-2942 by 9 a.m. the day of the meal. We are located at 309 S. Third St.

Merry Christmas to all. This is my last article before Christmas and I hope that Santa is good to everyone, but most importantly I hope that everybody remembers the real reason for the season is Jesus.

Don’t forget we still have peppernuts for sale at the center for $8 a bag. They make wonderful last minute gifts or stocking stuffers plus they help the Peabody Senior Center with its annual fundraiser.

We are having Christmas brunch at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 21. This is a wonderful kick-off to the holiday.

Our head cook, Kim Nellans, makes a delicious breakfast casserole along with blueberry coffee cake or cinnamon rolls. After a hearty breakfast, people can either take off for last-minute errands or leave for their holiday trips.

Frozen meals will be delivered for those who would like them because we will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 24 and 25. We will deliver this week, so call us and let us know how many meals you would desire.

Then to finish out the year we have Bingo after lunch on Dec. 27.

The grand finale of 2012 is Monday, Dec. 31. We will have Kim?s ?famous? pizza, followed by a music program with Bob and the Boys. Be sure to make reservations early.

Lunch begins at 11:45 a.m., Monday through Friday and we are located at 106 S. Walnut or call, 620-983-2226.

Meals have a suggested price of $2.75 for those 60 and over and $4.50 for those 59 and under.
