Peabody senior center

The Peabody Senior Center wants to thank all the generous gardeners in the area who kept us well-supplied in fresh fruits and vegetables.

We appreciated them very much. Summer is such a ?tasty and delicious? time when the gardens start producing. Thanks from all of us.

We continue with midday meals through August. Time seems to be going by faster and faster. I was somewhere misled into thinking it slowed down after retirement, but somehow I just haven?t found the truth in that statement.

Don?t forget wellness classes are from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the community room of the Indian Guide Apartment. The classes are well-received. Participants are learning a lot and enjoying the class.

With the cooler days and nights, it?s nice to open the house and turn off the air conditioner. I notice many people are going back to daily walks and that?s a good thing.

Everyone is welcome for lunch at 11:45 a.m. Monday through Friday. We do ask that anybody planning to come call the day before and make a reservation.

Menus are available for the current month at the Senior Center. For those who have the time, we invite them to volunteer. Studies prove that volunteering is physically and mentally good, so come down and let us prove it.

To make a meal reservation, volunteer or to ask a question, call 620-983-2226 or come by 106 N. Walnut St.
