We currently need volunteers from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Volun?teers get a free meal the day you help. Please contact the center if you can serve in this way.
Thank you to everyone who supports our center, and thank you to our board members for all your hard work to keep the center going. We also thank our volunteers, dishwashers, Meals on Wheels drivers, head cook Janis Wright and assistant cook Norma Cabben. We have a great crew.
Anyone can join us at the center for a meal. The suggested donation is $3.15 for those age 60 and older and $5 for those under 60. It is a great price for a great meal.

Eighty degrees and rainy?they call this August? It is amazing what this weather is doing this year, but we will survive. We survived the heat, so I guess we can survive the rain and cool.
Commodities will be in Thursday, Aug. 15, and we will be sacking them after lunch. We always appreciate help with that venture. They will be distributed between 9-11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at the senior center.
Also on Aug. 15, after we sack the commodities we will play Bingo. Grab a couple candy bars for the prize basket and stay for some fun. We have a good time playing and wish more would stay and enjoy.
We will have our monthly business meeting Aug. 20. Join us and learn all the fun and facts about the Senior Center. It?s a great time to get plugged in and become a part of a wonderful, fun group of people.
On Wednesday, Aug. 21, we will have Marion County Sheriff Rob Craft here to talk to us. He is always a wonderful speaker with a lot of information that really concerns each of us. Make plans to attend.
On Aug. 22, we will have Dr. Zafar teaching us about our hearing. He is interesting and informative and you will be glad you made a reservation for this.
The Peabody Senior Center has delicious meals and interesting and informational programs for your benefit. Come by 106 N. Walnut or call us at 620-983-2226 to make a reservation, pick up a menu, or just enjoy a cup of coffee and visit with friends. We would enjoy seeing you.
