Senior Scribbles (Aug. 12, 2009)

Everyone is invited to a discussion Wednesday after lunch with Bill Good of Good Health Chiropractic and Diagnostic Center speaking on the cause and cure of arthritis.

Left-handed people will be honored at Thursday?s luncheon. Adding to that, maybe we will all try eating left-handed.

Quilter?s Day is Monday, Aug. 17, and for those who have been quilters will talk about when they began quilting and some of their interesting times.

Looking ahead: Wednesday, Aug. 19, Haris Zafar of Wichita will be available for those with hearing aid problems. Also on Wednesday is the Carry-In Meal. After our shared meal, a representative from Personal Energy Transportation of Moundridge will make a presentation on their ?Hope and Sharing God?s Love,? with supplying wheelchairs in needy parts of the U.S. and abroad. Come prepared to help them with this endeavor.

Lonn Richard?s Polka Band will play at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, with the ice-cream social scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Stop by the center and sign-up that you will be attending. A donation of $5 per person is requested.

This is one of the yearly fundraising events which supplies much needed funds to support the Hillsboro Senior Center.
