Footcare, sponsored by Greenhaw Wellness, is April 8. Appointments are needed.

For Bingo enthusiasts, we will be playing after lunch every Wednesday in April.

National Volunteer Month is April 6 through April 12. It is a time to thank all the wonderful volunteers in our community.

We hope to see others join us for lunch at the center. Anyone at any age can enjoy a meal with suggested prices for those age 60 and over $3.15. Anyone 59 and under pays $5.

We thank everyone who supports our center.

We observed the mayor?s March for Meals event on March 21 when Mayor Mary Olson rode with volunteer driver Dorothy Conyers to deliver friendship meals.

This is a great program, taking meals and also checking up on the recipients.

Marion Police Officer Mike Stone and his K9 companion, Legion, were a big hit March 26.

Stone explained the training both he and Legion received, and how Legion can find drugs and other illegal items.

Residents of Hilltop Manor were in attendance for the program following lunch.

Come join us April 9 when we will be observing National Volunteer Week, recognizing meal delivery people, dining room volunteers and others.

We could not survive without loyal volunteers.

PEABODY senior center

Lenten Services continue each Wednesday after the noon meal. Today we are having Jim Truax here.

These devotions are uplifting and we hope you will join us.

April menus are out, and we encourage everyone to stop by the center and pick one up, or continue to watch the paper for the week’s menu. We would love to have you stop by, visit and sign up for a meal.

The suggested price for meals is $3.15 for seniors or $5 for those who haven?t reached the senior discount age. We also offer pick up meals for those who prefer to drop by and pick up a meal on their lunch hour.

Anyone interested in this option can choose either 10:45 a.m. or noon. Let us know when you sign up or call in.

We are having a make up meal at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, after Easter.

It will be pizza. Make sure to mark the date on the calendar. We must make up the meal when we had to be closed for the new faucet and sprayer that was installed in our kitchen.

We are really pleased with the faucet and the pizza menu will make the fact that we have to have a make up meal much nicer.

The make-up meal will require reservations, so call in as soon as you can. Our cook, Kim Nellans, will be sure to have enough for all.

Our annual volunteer appreciation is April 29.
