We have a flyer posted about the Golden Years Spring Festival in Salina April 19. It?s a day full of activities, a talent show, contests (hog calling, liars club), bingo and a dance. Think about going.

I read, ?All I Need to Know About Life I Heard? From the Easter Bunny.?

We had an Easter parade with Shirley Bowers as pianist. Thelma Blosser brought in some hats for us to wear. The kitchen crew got in the spirit and attached paper plates to the sides of their heads to be in the parade.

April is Volunteer month, and on April 26 a dinner is planned to recognize everyone who gives of their time.

Pastor Rodger Charles of the First Baptist Church of Peabody and who also oversees the library, will be our guest speaker.

Other events or activities in April include commodity distribution from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. April 12 and because of the distribution on that day, Bingo is cancelled.

The center really appreciates everything volunteers do. We couldn?t exist without them. Anyone who has time to spare, let us know and we?ll be happy to fill it for you.

We are located at 106 N. Walnut or call 620-983-2226. If you call after hours we have an answering machine that will pick up and you can make your reservation that way.
