HILLSBORO senior center

We will play bingo on Wednesday, Sept 11.

We will have jamm session on Thursday, Sept 12 after the noon meal.

A reminder the Kansas state fair is going on this week.

We are a few weeks away from the first day of fall. Lets hope it will start to cool off soon.

We hope you will join us soonfor a meal at the center.

If anyone has any program ideas, let us know. You get a meal the day you present your program.

We are also looking for more meals on wheels drivers, volunteers, a sub head cook and a sub dishwasher so call or stop by for more information.

If you have a friend or family member you like to invite to join us for a meal we can give them a meal for thir first time joining us so maybe we can get some new people to join us at the center.

Marion senior center

We are still enjoying our new cook. Come in for a menu and join us for lunch.

We enjoyed having Trayce Warner of Florence on Sept 11 to talk about her candidacy for Marion County Commission.

Peabody senior center

Grandparents Day was celebrated on Sept 5 at Peabody Burns Elementary School. Many grandparents had lunch with their grandchildren and then participated in an activity in their classroom. It was a lot of fun for everyone just spending quality time with their grandchild.

The Birthday Dinner was celebrated on Wednesday, Sept 11 with Chicken with all the trimmings and a Birthday Cake. Sonja Koslowsky played the piano, Rachel Gfeller gave free chair massages, and Peabody Health and Rehab had a nurse taking blood pressure readings.

Jaime Garcia, Angels, will be here on Thursday, Sept 12 taking blood pressure readings and do a program on falling. She will teach us what we can do to help prevent falling and how to get up when we do fall. Don’t miss this program.

We want to let everyone know we will be doing flu shots on Tuesday, Oct 1. They will start at 11 a.m. and stay till all shots are given. If interested, be sure to call the Peabody Senior Center and put your name on the list for the shot. But you can come in without an appointment. Blue Cross Blue Shield. State KanCare and most major medical insurances are accepted as well as cash and check.

Don’t forget you can get the Free Press at Peabody Market and CK Pharmacy.

September menus are available. Come on by and have a cup of coffee with us. Hope to see you soon.
