Senior Scribbles (8-28-19)

HILLSBORO senior center

We will be getting to the end of August and starting into September soon.

We will be closed on Monday, Sept 2 for the Labor Day holiday.

We need more volunteers and meals on wheels drivers. Call the center at 620-947-2304 for more information. We have a great group of people that help us volunteer at the center so we hope you will join us, too.

We will have Hillsboro hospital here from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept 6. Every 1st Friday of the month, they will come and do different clinic stuff for us with different staff or doctors.

Grandparents Day is on Sunday, Sept 8. The state fair also state fair also starts then.

Fall sports for our schools start in September, too. We are looking forward to cooler weather so people can get out and enjoy the weather.

We would like people to invite a friend or neighbor to come join them for a meal at the center to get more people coming so lets spread the word.

We also are looking for people to present programs for us or new ideas for a program. Just let us know. You get a meal the day you have a program for us.

I would like to see if I could get people interested in doing a craft day once a month, if someone could help us with that and what the cost would be per person. So let us know.

We want to thank everyone for your support to our center .

Looking for something to do? We always need volunteers so if you can spare a couple of hours a week, that would be a tremendous help. “The heart of a volunteer is not measured in size but by the depth of the commitment to make a difference in the lives of others.” We couldn’t do the meals without your help and your smiles.
