On Wednesday, we play bingo after the noon meal.

Thursday, Aug. 16 is our sing a long after the noon meal.

Our ice cream social is from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17. We will be serving Bierocks, pickles, chips, homemade ice cream and pie for $7. Bob Delk & the Boys will be playing music for us so come support our center and have great fewllowship, too. All money is for our senior center as we have some equipment we would like to buy. It will help with our bills, too.

We thank everyone for your support to our center. We need volunteers to help over our lunch time. If you can help from 11:15 a.m.-1:30 p.m., please call the center at 620-947-2304.

We also can use substitute meals on wheels drivers. We can train you. We have a great time at our center.

Anyone any age can come for a meal at our center. The suggested donation is $3.50 for under 60 and $5.25 for 59 and under. It’s a great deal for a great meal and also getting to know people at our center .

Marion senior center

We experienced the loss of electricity on Aug. 2 and ended up using paper plates because we couldn’t use the dishwasher.

Cruz Carrasco went ahead and wiped off tables after lunch in the semi-dark, and the card players went ahead with their game, squinting to see.

Shirley Moore has brought in two bouquets of roses and lillies for us to enjoy.

We welcomed the Lunch Bunch on Aug. 7. They always request lasagna for lunch.

Teresa Mills from the Marion Historical Museum was a big hit on Aug. 8. She brought artifacts from the museumfor us to identify, which we did. She was impressed. Such a bubbly, delightful personality. We’ll invite her back.

We need some kitchen/dining room help. Give us a few hours a week.

Our make up meal on Aug. 18 will be a brunch type menu of biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, cranberry juice and cinnamon roll served at noon.

Mark your calendar for 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug 16. We will be serving chili and Cinnamon rolls. This will be a make-up meal. Call in for a reservation. Lunch will be a chef salad.

Dawn Miller, “Angels”, will lead our cargiving meeting right after lunch on Thursday, Aug. 16. She has lots of good ideas. If you have any questions or just want to talk, she is here for you,

Where did our summer go? It’s hard to believe that school will be starting soon. Please keep an eye out for the children as they will be walking or riding their bicycles.

Stop by and have a cup of coffee with us, stay for a meal. Meals are $3.50 for 60+ and $5.25 for 59 and under. Be sure to call and make a reservation.
