We were glad to welcome back volunteer Robin Nelson. See had attended camp the week before.
Commodities came in on June 19. Those helping unload and box them up were Sue Clough, Doris Winkler, Bob Crawford, Teresa Eads, Shirley Bowers and Jerry Nelson.
We welcome Jill Tichenor as a new meal delivery person.
June 19 was Senior Center Day with the business meeting conducted by Senior Center President Sue Clough.

Peabody senior center
You probably heard that Peabody had experienced flooded waters, and yes, our Center just had to be in it. It brought memories of another time from 1965.
Yes, we have to remove carpet and flooring from our one large room, but the best part is we are hoping to serve meals yet this week. Our furniture was not in the water, kitchen had no damage, bathrooms are in working order and our dining room is in great shape.
Daryl, Service Master of Newton, was at our center within an hour of our call and spent a couple of hours getting the water off our floors, and our Board of Directors have been here cleaning up and deciding all the things they need to take care of to get us functioning again.
Please keep our Peabody residents in prayer as some have lost so much and remember we seniors are a tough breed, we never give up.
Our July menus are available. Come and see us, have a cup of coffee and stay a while. Meals are $3.50 for 60+ and $5.25 for 59 and under. Be sure to call and make a reservation. Take advantage of our Meals on Wheels program, please call for information (620-983-2226).
