Peabody senior center

We hope everyone had a good and safe Memorial Day. Rain is always a good thing, but I am ready for the sun shine and warm weather.

Paula Edmunds, Activity Director, from Peabody Health and Rehab brought in six seniors to have lunch with us this past Wed. It is always good to see our friends and spend some time with them.

Our exercise program is starting up again. We meet from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Mondays and Thursdays.

Come and join us, you can bring your own weights if you want to use them exercising. (no charge)

Allison or Sarah, Peabody Health and Rehab, come to our center 2 times a month and do a therapy exercise with us. They are scheduled to come from 10:15 – 11 a.m. from June 5 and 19. If you need a little help, they will come up with an exercise for you. Again, this program can be for you, so please come.

Birthday dinner will be on Wednesday, June 12, with Sonja Koslowsky at the piano, Rachel Gfeller doing chair massages, and Peabody Health and Rehab taking blood pressure.

Stop by and pick up a June menu. Meals are $3.50 for 60+ and $5.25 for 59 and under. Be sure to call and make a reservation. Take advantage of our Meals on Wheels program, please call for information (620-983-2226).

Volunteers are always needed so if you can spare a couple of hours, once a week, stop on by. It’s always nice to have back up volunteers to be a sub., please keep us in mind. Lots of vacations are in the near future so back-ups will be needed. We are so thankful for you volunteers, you are what keeps us going.
