We hope everyone had a great Easter.

We are needing more volunteers and sub meals on wheels drivers. We are also for another sub cook and sub dishwasher in case our other subs cannot help when we call them. You will get paid training for both positions

Call for more information at 620-947-2304. We have a great place to work and great fellowship.

Remember anyone any age can eat at our center the suggested donation is 60 and over 3.50 and under 60 is 5.25 still a great price for a great meal.

We hope everyone has a blessed week.

We welcomed the Harvest House group an April 12. If you’re having a meeting before noon on any day, bring your group here to eat.

Senior Center day was April 17 with President Sue Clough conducting the meeting.

We now have new gravel in our parking lot. Thanks to Jerry Kline for arranging for it.

Thanks to Lenora Smith for donating an upright freezer to us.

We’ve started a new jigsaw puzzle. This one a mere 1,000 pieces.

Be sure to come to our breakfast fundraiser on April 27 beginning at 8 a.m. There will be biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, coffee and juice for a donation to go towards center expenses.

Easter Dinner was served on Monday, April, 22. Bob Delk and Steve Hanneman came and volunteered their time playing music, helping us to make this a special day honoring our volunteers.

Last week, Cynthia Gibbs made pumpkin bread and Sharon Gilmore made snickerdoodles to share with our diners. What a nice surprise.

We played bingo with Shan Copeland, Bluestem PACE on Thursday, April 18.

Sadie Decker brought her son, Darrel and his wife Helen from Colorado and they enjoyed Easter Brunch with our diners on Friday.

Tristen Cope, Marion Co. Extension, leads us with our “Stay Strong, Stay Healthy” Strength Training program. We met on Monday, April 22 and will meet on Thursday, April 25. Our last two days of exercise will be on Monday, April 29 and Tuesday, April 30. It really is a great workout and we have a lot of fun.

May menus are now ready, so come by and pick one up, and have a cup of coffee with us. Meals are $3.50 for 60+ and $5.25 for 59 and under. Be sure to call and make a reservation. Take advantage of our Meals on Wheels program, please call for information (620-983-2226).

Volunteers are always needed so if you can spare a couple of hours, once a week, stop on by. It’s always nice to have back up volunteers to be a sub, so keep us in mind. Lots of graduations and vacations are in the near future so back-ups will be needed.
