Senior Scribbles (3-13-19)


We hope you remembered to spring forwarded on your clocks.

This week we have jamm session on Thursday, March 14 after the noon meal.

March 20 is the first day of spring we hope.

We will be having the Australian sky and weather couple here on Friday, March 22 to share all their wonderful pictures with us. They always have a great program to share. Mark your calenders for that.

We hope to have you join us soon for a meal at the center.

If anyone has a program they like to share with us please let us know.

We began the month of March by celebrating Barb Smith’s birthday with treats she brought to us.

Rhonda Brenzikofer brought birthday treats on March 4. Family members Renae and Dean Pusateri came to help celebrate.

We thank Jerry Kline for clearing sidewalks and our outside front entrance on snowy days.

We welcomed the Lunch Bunch on March 5. They come once a month to eat lasagna and visit.

We appreciate Amy from Marion Assisted Living, who delivered meals on March 6.

Gayla Ratzlaff gave the program that day about the group in Hillsboro called 2S2S (Second Saturday to Serve) and their many projects.

Peabody senior center

Hopefully everyone has survived our time change. It always seems like it takes us a week to get accustomed to getting up in the dark again.

Our first Strength Training session, led by Tristen Cope, has been completed. The next one will be from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, March 14. Our sessions will be every Monday and Thursday this month.

A Lent program will be held each Wednesday this month right after lunch. Pastor Angela DeFisher gave the program last week. Pastor Jim Pohlman will be doing the program this Wednesday. Pastor Rodger Charles will give the program on Mar. 20. Come and join us.

Birthday Dinner will be on Wednesday, March 13 with Rachel Gfeller doing Chair Massages, Sonja Koslowsky playing the Piano, and two nurses from Peabody Health and Rehab will be here to take blood pressure readings.

Dawn Miller, Angels, will be here on Thursday, March 14 to do your blood pressure.

Our Center will host the County Board meeting on Friday, March 15. We are looking forward to greet everyone who attends this meeting, and appreciate each of you board members who volunteer their time to help keep our centers growing.

We will be serving Corned Beef with Cabbage and Potatoes or Fish to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

Allison, Peabody Health and Rehab, will be here to lead our Therapy exercises, from 10:15 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20.

We will be serving a “Make-up Meal” of Chili, Crackers, Cinnamon Roil, Fruit, and Milk at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 21. Make sure to make a reservation.

We are still needing help in the kitchen, so if you can spare two and a half hours, once a week, we would love to have you come and be a part of our center.

Come and be a part of our center. Pick up a March menu, enjoy a cup of coffee and stay for lunch.

You are always welcome. Meals are $3.50 for 60+ and $5.25 for 59 and under. Be sure to call and make a reservation.
