HILLSBORO senior center

We hope everyone is ready for warmer as Spring starts on Wednesday, March 20. We hope it will start going in the right direction.

We are having a breakfast fundraiser from 7 a.m.- 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 2. We will be having waffles & Hillsboro sausage by donation. This is to help support our senior center and keep it going strong.

Daylight Savings is on Sunday, March 10 so spring forward.

We will have Clyve & Jane Herbert here on Friday, March 22. They will share their beautiful Australian sky and weather pictures with us so mark your calendars.

A reminder during the winter months, if the school is closed the center will be closed, too, due to weather conditions.

We are looking for people to help deliver meals on wheels you will be trained let us know if you can help.

You can tell that Spring is almost here even with all these storms.

Allison led us in out therapy exercise on Wednesday, Feb. 20.

Diners played Bingo after lunch on Thursday, Feb. 21.

Tristen Cope gave a morning program “Strength training for older adults”on Thursday, Feb. 21. She helped us with our paperwork and went through the exercises she will be doing. She allowed us to participate in the exercise, and at the end, we decided that all of us will be able to do them. You can pick up the papers and look at the exercises this week. She will pick up the paperwork on Friday, March 1. Classes are held at 10-11 a.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. The first one on March 4 will start at 9 a.m. so she will have time with each person. The fee is $10 for the course, and it is due on March 4. Classes are March 4 – April 25.

Allison will be here to lead our therapy exercise on Wednesday, March6.

Our board meeting will be on Monday, March 11.

Grief Share will be 3-4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 11.

Birthday lunch will be on Wednesday, March 13. Sonja Koslowsky will be at the piano, Rachel Gfellar will give chair massages and Peabody Health and Rehab nurses will be here to do blood pressure readings.

The county board will be here on Friday, March 16.

Come on by and say hi and stay for a meal. Meals are $3.50 for 60 and over and $5.25 for 59 and under.

Frozen meals are available and we do home deliveries. Thank you all for your support.
