Birthday dinner this week welcomed guests from the Marion area, Eugene and Betty Just, Evelyn and Clifford Hett, Joyce Olson and Wanda Williams. They came to help me celebrate my birthday as well as other birthdays. All of us enjoyed the meal and our time together. Dr. Whitely gave a program on frostbite, Rachel Gfeller gave chair massages and Sonja Koslowsky played the piano.
The Light Tour on Wednesday evening was great. Many residents from Westview Manor, Peabody Health and Rehab, Indian Guide and some from the center were able to see the beautiful lights here in town. We appreciate USD 398 for providing the bus and the driver, Mr. Young. Paula Edmunds drove the Peabody Rehab bus so everyone riding with her could enjoy the evening. We ended the evening with hot chocolate, coffee and lots of snacks. Board members were at the center to greet, serve and visit with all those who came.
The board meeting is on Monday, Dec. 17.
We will have Christmas Dinner with a baked ham dinner on Tuesday, Dec. 18.
Christmas Brunch will be served at 9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21. We will have biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs and fruit.
Remember we will be closed on Dec 24 and 25. If you need an extra meal, let us know. We keep frozen meals on hand. We will deliver the extra meals on Dec. 21.
We will have our annual Pizza Party on Dec. 31 at lunch time. Help us celebrate the end of the year and new beginnings for 2019.
Meals are $3.50 for 60+ and $5.25 for 59 and under.
Take advantage of our Meals on Wheels program, please call for information at 620-983-2226.
We still need volunteers to help in the kitchen and dining room, so if you have a couple of hours once a week, we want you. We can always use substitutes so please keep us in mind.
