Senior Scribbles (10-9-19)

HILLSBORO Senior Center

The Senior Center has a water leak out in front of our building so we will need to be closed a few days to fix it.

We are hoping to do this on Thursday. On Friday, I will have it on our answering machine when we know and a note on our door. We will send out frozen meals to our home deliveries and have extra meals for our people that eat at the center.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but we have to get it fixed. This will be a big cost to our center so if anyone would like to donate to help us cover the cost we will be grateful.

We will have our Jamm session next Thursday, Oct. 10.

We will have flu shots from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Hillsboro hometown pharmacy will be doing this for us.

We will be hosting the senior center annual meeting on Thursday, Oct. 17, and the price for the meal will be $5.25. There will be a lot of people that day. If you pick up your meal or have it delivered the cost is still $3.50. It is just the ones eating at the center that day. We need to know by Oct. 7.

We hope you will join us soon for a meal at our center. We thank everyone for your support to our center.

Come in and see our Halloween decorations – pumpkins, witches and ghosts, oh my! We thank Janie Westerman and Becky Hogue for putting them up.

We welcomed the first Tuesday Lunch Bunch on October 1. They request lasagna for their lunch, which we all enjoy.

One of the candidates for county commissioner, Dave Crofoot, spoke to us on Oct 2.
