Peppernut baking will be on Thursday Oct. 11, Monday, Oct. 15, Monday, Oct. 22, Thurs, Oct. 25 and Monday, Oct. 29. We need many volunteers to help with this project. We will begin baking right after lunch so put on an apron and come on down. This project takes many hands to make it a success.
Peggy Goertzen will be coming to our center and give a program on “The Prisoners of War”. Peabody had several prisoners held here, and they would work for farmers during the day and then come back to the Heckondorn building at night. There are several seniors who are still living here in Peabody that lived on farms as a child and still remember some of the prisoners. We would love to have you write and share some of your memories of that time.
Gayla Ratzlaff is scheduled to come to Peabody from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on Oct. 25 and in Nov. for your prescriptions and help with medicare. You can call us and schedule an appointment with her.
We can still use volunteers, so if you can spare one day a week, 2 1/2 hours, would be awesome. You do make a difference!
Come on by and have lunch with us. October menus are now available.
Meals are $3.50 for 60+ and $5.25 for 59 and under. Be sure to call and make a reservation.
