Welcome to October. This week we will play bingo after the noon meal on Wednesday, Oct 2.
We will have Aleya Ediger from the Marion Aquatic Center on Thursday, Oct 3.
Someone from Hillsboro Hospital will be here from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4.
Fire chief Ben Steketee will be talking about fire safety on Monday, Oct. 7 for us.
We have dominos on Monday after the noon meal and bingo on Wednesday after the noon meal.
We are looking for a sub head cook and a sub dishwasher.

Tickets for the annual meeting in Hillsboro on Oct 17 are $15.35 and are available here now.
The newsletter crew came in on Oct 23. This group consisted of Mary Hett, Irmagene Goodman, Larry and Barb Smith, Doris Winkler, Shirley Bowers and Gayla Ratzlaff.
Harlow Warneke grilled hamburgers for us on Oct 25. The Lutheran Lunch Bunch joined us.
The County Health Office will provide flu shots from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct 9.
Dr. Whitey will give a program on Oct 8 after lunch.

Peabody senior center
We had a very good turn out for the flu shots. If you missed out on getting your flu shot, you can call the Marion County Health Department at 620-382-2550 and set up a time. Just make sure you make a point to get a flu shot. We appreciate the time the nurses spent setting up and giving the shots plus you didn’t have too far to walk.
Birthday Dinner will be Wednesday. Oct. 9.
John Etheridge, Angels, will be here at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10. He will be doing a program before lunch, on Medicine Management, and a nurse will be here to do blood pressure readings for you.
Let the Peppernut Baking begin. It’s that time of year, beginning Oct. 10, right after lunch. Can’t wait to see all of you volunteers. We are amazed and grateful for how many of you give up your time to help us with the peppernuts.
Gayla will be here Oct. 25 to help us with our different Medicare Part D Prescriptions. Take time to come because there is a chance she may be able to save you a little money. A lot of us have had our Part D doubled for the upcoming year. We are really happy that we have her here to walk us through the paper work.
